      Though I have tried in vice,

      Though I have tried in friendship,

      Though I have tried.

      It amounts to much in vain.

      Night fell and shrouded my day.

      I even wished the candle to be out.

      But their sun continues to rise and so must mine in bloodied glory.

      Tear the walls down and make them see,

      I am not what they painted me to be.

      I achieved so much more than them both,

      But it's Kalahari sand through my fingers.

      How ironic; with my best intentions, I achieved nothing at all.

      The Waiting

      And I waited that eve,

      Waited until the night chased the day.

      Till the birds retreated to eaves,

      And the boughs ceased their sway.

      And my whole world seemed to tilt,

      Tilt towards the dark that smothered the light.

      And I knew, all was right.

      Here in the night and away from the light.

      About the Author

      I am something of a criminal when it comes to the appropriate command of the Queen's English. However, my grasp of ideas has been something of a plague since my most emotive years and some of them have forced my hand to paper.
