      PREFACE:

It may be expected that this book is unified on a single theme like the rainbow, a symbol of freedom and unity. Instead, this book divides each poem and they all stand individually representing lots of ideas, a ridicule to the rainbow, thereby separating the colours and making them stand out in brightness with their own cheerful warmth. Every poem has a story to tell just like every colour has a mood to drive.

      POEM OF COLOURS

      I love purple

      It makes me look supple

      Just like a fresh apple

      I’d choose violet

      Instead of scarlet

      To match my bracelet

      I’d go for red

      That’s what a friend said

So I’ll be called, ’lady in red’

      I look good in pink

I always end up with a wink

And always go out in a blink

      I prefer yellow

      To make me glow

And the brightness will never go

Did you just offer me white?

      Thanks please come home

      For a bite of pizza

Because you make me feel like a heaven’s kite

      I’m in love with blue

And I’m stuck to it like glue

      Ha-ha, guess you’re looking for a clue

      TO BELIEVE

      To believe

is to conceive, what gently comes around

      To own it

is to receive what belongs to believe

      To inherit it

is to discover what owns us

      To feel beautiful

      is to be grateful

      You own a beautiful melody inside you;

      a charm, slowly unleashed.

Don’t forget you are a miracle!

      LOVE WITHOUT CLUE

I felt I had found my knight in shining armour

but my whole ended up taking everything as a humour.

Please don’t get it twisted; I know Oliver Twist asked for more

but in my case, I had no choice but to love you the more

      Sometimes I thought I was flying without wings;

you and I would testify that my dreams ended us up in swings.

Remembering your face was a hobby anytime a love song was sung.

I woke up from my slumber and realized it was all a dream

‘When the wrong one loves you right’:

Celine Dion couldn’t have put it any better

but who is the wrong one in this love letter?

I heard love goes where love is,

so can love lose its way through the mist?

I hope and pray fate brings us together

even though I see you’re happy with another

Remember I still love and cherish you

and when it comes to loving you

      I can’t stop looking for a clue

      I BELIEVE

Have you loved someone that much

Every day you send them several calls

Not even a returned flash or a text

To console your heart with a touch

      So scarred and scared

      To carry your feet along

      Which route next?

      Say to your beautiful self,

      ‘I believe

      someday, my true love

will come chasing for me among the millions!’

      Are you surrounded by people

      but loneliness becomes the alarm

That wakes you up first in the morning?

      When you grabbed the radio

to cool off in the evening

      by accident the songs

      Stirred your deep feelings

from the privy rooms where they belonged?

      Don’t mind

Wave your hands in the air

      And hum to yourself,

      ‘I believe

the moments are confiding in me’

Have you searched for a broken piece

[like a tiny grain on the beach-side’s sand…]

      to restore that inner peace

like free mansions begging for occupants?

      Let go…

Wave your hands in the air

Say to yourself one more time,

      ‘I believe

I am meant to be me

even if flawless mirrors don’t lie’

      Have you received several NOs

      In your try

      That made you cry?

      When you were young

the lullaby mom and dad sung

into your head said, ”you were the best.”

      Now your world seems crushing

      with life's wild pace

      but remember a fulfilled life

      is like the toddler’s graceful steps;

      so refreshing

      no rushing-

Your endurance is writing a test

Wave your hands in the air

Say to yourself for the last time,

      ‘I believe

one YES is enough for me.’

      LIFE IS DEEP

      Sadness sets life travelling deep

      Happiness we long to keep

      Pills unable to console sleep

      Bills trading place

      for a race

      so cheap

      The more I know

      the more I don't know

      How do I explain how

that's the real feel’ right now

      Slow it may flow

      The low

      will glow

      as the young shall grow

      Reassuring is thinking

      Resigning is sinking

      Respect for humanity

      makes us queens and kings

      No man owns spe
    cial genes for identity

Humans have only one true race

A unique class respect for human dignity

      Moment to movement

      Comment to commitment

Black and white piano buttons blend for my favourite song

      Together we are strong

      May our lives prolong

where others will be glad to belong

      Amen!

      LIFE

Life is indeed how you make it

not how you feel or see it to be

      William Shakespeare once said,

“Life is a stage” and humans are the characters

      My verse betrays this sage:

      If life is a stage

      Then who are the audience?

      We’re our own audience

We were all born with a purpose and a vision

Whilst some choose to watch the characters on stage

others walk onto the stage to display what they know best

It’s about time we took our destiny into our own hands

Take up the fight and walk onto the stage

Let’s give back to society what God has given us for free

Wait a minute Mr. Camera-man says, “stand by and action”

      But where are the audience?

The audience left will be God and the heavenly angels

Watching and judging us according to our deeds

So let’s all try to make the planet earth a desirable place to live in

Well then, we will give a nice tune and dance to it

He who pays the piper callsfor the tune

      WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES

      Something in me died

Like a bullet poisoning my every fibre

I remember when you recited the creed,

‘I will cross the world for another like you’

[my senses started banking in six-figures.]

      I never imagined

someday I will walk these lonely alleys alone

      without your pampered shoulders

to lean on as that special one

      Whenever I close my eyes

And my hands merge a bond

      I won’t rain a curse on anyone

      A billowing surge of blessings

      Overriding the lessons

Invited in by my new strength

      When the season

      comes home with sufferings

      the beautiful sky

      reminds me I am mighty

      to overcome any calamity

instead of looking down on myself

With a plain heart as an offering

saving my tears, to shaming my fears

      When I pray

      I pause a little moment

      This time not to request

Simply to be happy I passed life’s test

When the genie grants me a wish

I won’t ask for the right person to carry me on

I was too blind to know

      It’s me, not anyone

When I see good people suffer

      I console myself

If all their problems pass away

where will be the feat to celebrate?

      This miracle reminds me that

we are stronger than our obstacles

      INNER BEING

I don’t even know whether to call it a monologue

It has left me with a bunch of thoughts I call a catalogue

A pal suggested I refer to it as a dialogue

but I sat down and my mind’s eye showed me the synagogue

I believe I had the ability

      Folks said, “Ha-ha you’re a liability”

      It really affected my sensitivity

Now I feel no genuine connectivity

It wasn’t easy having the tendency

All what people said was a fallacy

but I never compared it to literacy

Just built my own world of fantasy

After sometime, thinking I was secured,

I went ahead and successfully acquired

I didn’t know I would be totally required

To bring up events that had occurred

I hope that is all it inquired

I’m listening to my inner being

Of course you aren’t hearing neither are you seeing

You there, don’t even try peeping

After all what are you seeking?

      Nothing but a mere leaning…

      ROMANCE WITH THE FUTURE

When the alluring thought of failure

first fore played with my mind,

      mental pre-mature ejaculation

caused me to die inside deep

      No warning for the circulation

      Even in my sleep

      my excited nerves lost it

      Rainbows starving as gloomy shadows

No climbing to the plain heights

      When the thoughts of happiness

first dated with my inner being

      I discovered inside me wings

Even in my imperfect curves and lines

      ideas became invention

      A moment beyond eureka’s shine

I am royally owned by my beautiful intentions

I am ready for the storms

      to rock my boat

      on the way to climax

      Failure is fulfilment

      without happiness;

      Happiness is fulfilment

      overcoming failure!

      ENDLESS LOVE

      Behind closed doors and windows,

two soul mates that in the lighter sense are shadows

meet in the dark and converge like water meadows

They have sorrows to share but no one knows tomorrow

They’re head over heels in love; yeah they call it true love

but I call it addicted love

I don’t need you to second theirs’ instead

      but they feel protected

Unfaithfulness is not in their vocabulary

even if it’s in the full glare of everybody

“I can’t live without you” one says to the other

I look at them in disbelief, but it’s not a bother

I hope it goes on this way

because I see them make promises each day

There could be barriers yes, you heard me barriers

I wish they don’t pollute their manners

Lest I forget, I’ve a broken heart to fix

so I don’t want to spoil their album with my pics

I better do something about my mood

because I’m sure I’ll end up with something good

They’ll forever be in love, I suppose

      Who am I to oppose?

THE MOMENT I SAW YOUR FACE

My heart stopped beating for sometime

and my body stopped moving to analyse

I heard strange whispers in my ears

that I had never heard for all these years

That was the moment I saw your face

      My legs refused to move

      Suddenly, I heard a snooze

and I didn’t need to prove

that I was already in love

the moment I saw your face

This moment of ecstasy sent shivers through my spine

“I can’t wait till the day you become mine”

My hopes sparked up to cloud nine

and I wish this would never pass by

The moment I saw your face

      Almost felt like heaven

because I gazed into your eyes in my haven

Hoped this couldn’t land me in an oven

but rather my heart I’ governed

The moment I saw your face

      HAPPY FEELINGS

      When troubles draw near

I want you my feelings to take charge

      and be the happiest

      The peace inside you dear

is bigger than any wasted tear

I want you to smile all day long

although everything we own won’t b
    e perfect

      Daily plans may be correct

but things can still go wrong

      When you are weak

      I want you to breathe life into yourself this week;

      I am strong

      My joy is coming

      to fill my cup

      to lift me up

I don’t want you to hide your tears

      when you are in pain

      Let them show

      They will glow

through your windows as they flow

You will no more feel low

      Healing is coming home

      to cure every ill syndrome

You may not own a pair of wings

      to rule the sky

      like the mighty birds

but don’t forget you own a heart

that has a beautiful song to sing

      to excite the beautiful birds

      for inspiration that never departs

      WHEN HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF

      Oh no … not again

      I can’t bear this pain

Why should this leave me in disdain?

      What did I gain?

It is true of the saying,

      ’Once bitten, twice shy’

but I dared to try this once more

By and by, I’ve been left with another heartbreak

I thought I was ready this time

      After going through this torture

      and left without a dime

when will I find someone I can call mine

      They say, “Patience moves mountains”

so I am counting on the day

I will meet the one who will erase the phrase

      ‘History has repeated itself’

      STRANGELY NORMAL

      Hello my Doctor,

Don’t offer me pills to digest my sleep

I deserve a special dream cream

      that won’t wake me up

      to hug this pain

      all over again

      Hello my Momma,

      Don’t give me a wife

      I need a best friend

      in life

      that I can keep

      all to myself

      day and night

till our love sneaks to sleep

waking up to a blissful keep

      Dear friends,

      Don’t buy me compliments

      from your lips

      I need encouragement

      which comes straight from your hearts;

      pure to cure
